Serenity Drill Team Looking for new members

 Serenity Drill team is now looking for young ladies ages 5-18 to come and be apart of a lifelong sisterhood starting with stepping.

Their mission is to empower the women of tomorrow by skill building through drill team.

Cleveland School of the Arts Auditions

Have a talented student in your family?  Audition to attend Cleveland School  of the Arts!

When: Saturday, March 13th & 20th 8:00 am and 1:00 pm

Where:  Cleveland School of the Arts 10700 Churchill Ave (at E.105 Street  Turn right onto Orville Road. School is located on the right.)

Students interseted in attending Clevleand School of the Arts may audition for  the 2010-2011 school year. The audition process takes about 2-3 hours for stuents and parents are expected to remain in the school building as auditions are held.  No appointements necessary.

Students in grades Kindergarden-3rd Grade can also audition at this time for the Lower Campus,.  The lower campus is  located at 2501 E. 61st Street in the Central neighborhood. Parents will complete an application as student are being judges on creativity, movement, communication skills and willingness to learn. 

BRING: 1. A copy of the most Recent report card for our records

                  2. A copy of the most current IEP if a student requires special educational services

                  3. A recommendation completed by current arts area teacher

Students in grades 4-11 may audition for Art, Dance, Theatre, Instumental Music, and Vocal Music.  Students in  grades 9-11 may also audition for Literary Arts and Photography.

West 83rd Street Family Benefit

On Monday, January 25th, a tragedy struck the Detroit Shorewaycommunity with a home explosion, causing 15 families to be displaced from their homes, and other numerous homes (57) in this area to be damaged.  With the help of the community, these families are finding temporary shelter, but they have lost their possessions.  Please join Councilman Matt Zone and other Cleveland City Council members, Mayor Frank G. Jackson and the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization for a Spaghetti fundraiser to help the victims of this tragedy return to a sense of normality in their life.

The event will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Hall, located at 6928 Detroit Avenue.
