Wrap Around School Support
Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc. provides wrap around support to one school in the Kinsman neighborhood and one school in the Central neighborhood. Wrap around support involves providing social service and community services to students and their families so that they can have the best school experience possible. BBC has a staff person assigned to both Anton Grdina School in Kinsman and George Washington Carver School in Central. The Wrap Around Support program is sponsored by Cleveland Metropolitan School District and the United Way of Greater Cleveland. Summer Camps in Central and Kinsman
Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc hosts summer camps in both Central and Kinsman. Both camps are open to anyone in the required age range, regardless of where they attend school. The summer camps are sponsored by the United Way of Greater Cleveland.
In Central, Camp Carver at George Washington Carver school begins on the same day as summer school for CMSD students. For six weeks, students from Kindergarten to 5th grade participate in arts and crafts, educational activities, and weekly field trips. In Kinsman, the Urban Achievers Camp allows youth to brush up on their sports skills while learning about sports history and how to use their sports talents to access college scholarships. Camp begins one week after CMSD summer camp begins. For more information please contact Brian Webster
