ABOUT THE CUYAHOGA EITC COALITION
Each year, the Cuyahoga EITC Coalition, led by Enterprise Community Partners along with other
community partners provides free tax preparation and access to asset-building programs for
more than 14,000 low-income families. The mission of the Coalition is to be a community based
coalition that promotes economic prosperity and improves lives through Volunteer Income Tax
(VITA) and asset building activities that move low-income families from financial uncertainty to
OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for assuring that every client is aware of all the Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance (VITA) services that are available. The Intake Coordinator will oversee client sign-in activity, assist clients with the intake sheet, and direct clients to our on-site referral service if necessary. The intake coordinator will report to the Site Coordinator.
Prior to opening, ensure that VITA site is set up and ready for operation.
Greet clients and manage sign-in.
Screen clients for income guidelines and documentation.
Provide clients with the intake form.
Ensure that volunteers have all forms and equipment under their control at all times to ensure
Coordinate with Site Coordinator.
Attend IRS basic tax law training.
Successfully pass an IRS certification exam to be covered by the Volunteer Protection Act*.
Must complete the IRS Ethical training and Certification test.
Sign-in on the volunteer sign-in form.
Be punctual and stay for the length of time scheduled.
Respect client privacy. Give 24 hour notice when unable to attend a site.
Report daily to Site Coordinator.
Ability to work as a volunteer for 6-8 hours per week.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and comfort with a wide range of people.
Ability to work well as a part of a team.
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Demonstrated, basic computer skills.
Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict a plus.
$12.00 per hour, hours will vary, effective December 1, 2021 – May 15, 2022

liability for acts or omissions that occur while acting within the scope of their responsibilities at
the time of the act or omission. It provides no protection for harm caused by willful or criminal

rights or safety of the individual harmed by the volunteer.
