Grand opening for the BOXSPOT, an open-air market where diverse businesses are clustered in a single site to create a shopping destination.
BOXSPOT is a $1.5 million project, led by BBC and supported by the Cleveland Foundation, City of Cleveland and the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. It is located at the corner of East 81st Street and Kinsman Road.
The business incubator will be home to seven retailers:
• JB Grill – A soul food restaurant owned by Barbara Bradford;
• Kandy Kupboard – A candy store owned by Sharyna Cloud;
• Our Favorite Things Boutique – A fashion boutique owned by Lisa McGuthry;
• Kidz Style Lounge – A children’s hair salon owned by Rashana Bates;
• A Touch of Rain – Express Nail Salon;
• Mr. Officials – A screen printing store owned by Shamir Oglesby; and
• Ispecz – An affordable eyewear store owned by Olympia Robinson
