Joseph Jones, BBC’s Real Estate Development Director, will be retiring after nearly eleven years of service with the organization. Joseph will leave BBC on March 30, 2014. He contributed to all of BBC’s successful real estate development projects including Bridgeport Place retail center, Bridgeport Café and Cornucopia Place, and the Villages of Central among others.
Joseph also worked closely with many community residents, especially senior citizens, through BBC’s home repair assistance program. He counseled many area businesses through our small business assistance program.
Joseph brought a wealth of knowledge to his position. Before joining BBC, Joseph owned his own construction company and worked many years as a Quality Assurance Supervisor at Day Glo Corporation in Cleveland. He is also a licensed realtor. While working at BBC Joseph earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and became a licensed Social Worker by the State of Ohio.
Joseph is known by staff for his words of wisdom and witty sense of humor. A lasting quote from Joseph is “There is the way things appear to be, and there is the way things really are. BBC has succeeded because we always dealt things the way they really are.”
Joseph’s wife Denise retired from the Ohio Office of Unemployment in 2012. Now that Joseph is retiring, they plan to travel the world together and spend more time with their five children and five grandchildren.
We wish Joseph all the best in his retired life and thank him for his years of dedication to Cleveland’s Central and
Kudos to Joe. Hopefully, BBC’s loss is our gain. Joe please volunteer at CWRU’s Mandel School in his retirement.
Congratulations Mr. Jones. May you enjoy the next chapter of your life.
Joe–I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with you on a very challenging project from many perspectives. You’ve had helpful insights on many of the issues we’ve faced. I hope you’ll stay in touch and help us celebrate the completion of this project and take some satisfaction in your role in helping provide greatly upgraded housing for nearly 150 families.
Thanks for your efforts, and good luck in your retirement!
Best Wishes and Good Luck, Thanks for all your help we will talk more.
Joe, you have been a key leader in bringing about community changes that have had immediate and lasting benefits for many people. It is good that you are taking time to travel with Denise and to enjoy yourselves. You deserve it! However, knowing you I expect that you will still be engaged in the community just not is such a visible role.
We are proud that you are a graduate of the Mandel School and a Louis Stokes Scholar.
Joe Jones, congratulations and have a great “vacation”.
A true professional and gentlemen. It has been a pleasure working with you through the years. Enjoy your retirement and GOD Bless you and yours.
