The Men of Central will be hosting a Back to School Supply Give-a-Way on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Lonnie Burten Recreation Center, 2511 E. 46th Street (south of Quincy Avenue) in Cleveland. The Marshall Avenue Safety Group will host its 6th Annual Back to School Safety Fair and Block Party on Saturday September 6, 2008 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Attendees can receive school supplies and safety information from the Cleveland Police, Fire Department, Emergency Medical
Services, and various social service providers to prepare for the upcoming school year. Participants will also enjoy food, games, and live entertainment. Your Child and Mine will host a Back to School Bash from Friday, September 5 – Sunday, September 7, 2008. The weekend begins with a Kick-off kickball game at Cuyahoga Community College Recreation Field on E. 30th St & Community College Avenue at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 5. This event will be followed by a candle light vigil featuring guest speakers to remember those who have lost their lives to violence. On Saturday, September 6, the Back to School Bash will be held at 3128 Central Avenue in Cleveland from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Participants will enjoy food, fun, and entertainment, as well as receive safety information from Cleveland Police, Fire Department, Health Department, and various social service agencies.
