The Summer Mural Institute has been providing job training and leadership development to youth in Cleveland neighborhoods while creating large scale  public murals.

Come see the progress the Teen Apprentices  from Cleveland and East Cleveland have made on their murals.

Come meet  emerging artists from the Cleveland Institute of Art.

 Come visit  Artists in Residence Ted Kurtz and Danny Carver, who  have made murals for the Larchmere and Detroit Shoreway Neighborhood.

Two Free Workshops with Artist and Advocate Lily Yeh

Using a model proven in her 20 years at the Village of Arts and Humanities in North Philadelphia, Yeh will discuss how you can use arts to create a sense of community in your neighborhood. Learn more about Yeh and her work worldwide at

Workshops are free, but you must register. Lunch is provided


General Workshop

Learn the methodology behind the model 10 am to 11:30 am (You must attend this workshop with others from your group, organization, or neighborhood if you plan on attending the second workshop.)

Project Workshop

Learn how to launch a project in your community 12:30 pm to 2 pm (You must attend the morning workshop in order to attend this workshop. Please attend with others from your group, organization, or neighborhood.)

Inspiring Creativity In Modern Music, Art, Dance, and Poetry For Students Ages 11 andd Up

9th Annual Rhapsody Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp

Progressive Arts Alliance provides an exceptional opportunity for students to meet new friends, share and create each summer through our annual RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp.

Camp activities are alot of fun, but they also help students develop their imagination, creativity, The camp is held at the Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare.

This two-week camp is open to students age 11-18, and features hands-on workshops that allow students to learn more about the history and creative expressions of hip-hop culture:

DJing, MCing (rapping), Dance (breaking), Graffiti Art.

Students learn more about the arts and how hip-hop can be a positive, productive form of creative self-expression. The program culminates in a dynamic performance the last day of camp!
