BBC organizes or is involved in a variety of special events designed to celebrate the Central, Kinsman, and Garden Valley neighborhoods, build a sense of community and create opportunities for residents and stakeholders to congregate.

BBC’s two most significant events, the Ward 5 Community Family Festival and Black History Live, occur on an annual basis.  The Ward 5 Community Family Festival features live entertainment, games and activity stations for all ages, food and crafts vendors, and local organizations.  Black History Live, BBC’s  commemoration of Black History month, presents Ward 5 youth with the opportunity to see multicultural performances by their peers involved in Karamu House’s theater programs and honors an individual from the Central, Kinsman, and Garden Valley neighborhoods that is living history and making a substantial impact.  For more information on these events, please visit each corresponding page.
