Memorial Day Event @ Woodland Cemetery in Central Neighborhood

On May 22nd, May 23rd, and May 29th starting at 9:00am community members are invited to Woodland Cemetary to help place flags on the veteran graves.   The Woodland Cemetary is located between E. 66th and E. 71st Streets along Woodland Avenue in the Central neighborhood.  There are nearly 2100 veterans in 100 sections of the cemetery that need to be decorated for Memorial Day.  Please come even if you can only spend a few hours.  Your assistance is  welcomed.

On Monday May 31st at 10:00am The Woodland Cemetary will be having its annual Memorial Day ceremony.  This year they will be honoring Vietnam Veterans along with all service men to thank them for what they have done to protect and serve us!!

2010 City Works Proposal

The 2010 Cityworks Proposals are now available.  The City will host free workshops to help participants prepare the grant. The first workshop will be held at:

The workshops will begin at 7:00 p.m. Proposals will be distributed throughout the City, including at BBC’s office, and will also be available in the Division of Neighborhood Services.   You may also obtain the proposals on line, listed below are the website addresses:

2010 Cityworks Manual and Applications

Applicants will have approximately 30 days, until April,30, 2010, to submit their proposal to the Division of Neighborhood Services in Room 302 of City Hall. The proposal contains complete instructions on how to fill out the application. Should you have any questions, please contact Donna Harris, Program Manager for Cityworks at 216-664-4100

BBC can assist block clubs and street clubs in applying for grants in the Central and Kinsman neighborhoods.  For assistance, please call us at 216-341-1455.

Grand Opening of Grant Park

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Join Mayor Frank Jackson, Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland, the City of Cleveland Department of Parks & Recreation, and representatives from Burten, Bell, Carr Development as we celebrate the opening of the newly-expanded Grant Park. The event will take place Wednesday, May 28 at 4pm. Grant Park is located on East 38th Street just north of Central Avenue in St. John’s Village West.
