ciCLEvia Central Planning Meeting Today

What is CiCLEvia? It is an open streets event where segments of streets are temporarily closed to cars and opened for people.  People powered movement, such as biking, walking, dancing, and so much more will be included in this event that encourages a culture of active living and sustainable transportation while highlighting unique neighborhood assets where Cleveland’s residents live, work, and play.

CiCLEvia is a great way to showcase great things that our community has to offer. Hope you can attend the first workshop. Light dinner and refreshments will be served. Attached is the flyer for reference. Please call me if you have any questions.

Attention residents of Central and Kinsman:  Join the Cleveland Clinic 6 Week Health Challenge!

Register and represent your neighborhood in the Six Week Health Challenge. At the kick off event FREE health screenings, line dancing, cooking demonstrations, refreshments, raffle prizes, music and fun for the whole family!
The Six Week Health Challenge is part of the Healthy Communities Initiative – a collaborative effort between Cleveland Clinic and community partners to promote optimal health and wellness. Based on the Community Health Needs Assessment and utilizing combined resources within our local communities, these programs will be customized around three core areas: education, nutrition and physical activity.

Nature’s Best Choices Adventures to Asia Plaza

On February 1, Nature’s Best Choices, a program by Quiana Singleton through the Community Climate Ambassadors, traveled to Asia Plaza with seniors from CMHA to learn about fruits and vegetables from Asian culture. The participants  chose various foods and returned to CornUcopia Place where Chef Eric Wells prepared a dish with the foods that the seniors brought back. The program promotes fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy eating.
