March through Central in the 2012 Ward 5 Parade!

Have a group, band, or team?  Sign up to march in the 2012 Ward 5 Parade!  The Parade will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 12:00 pm.  The Parade starts at Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus at E. 30th St & Community College Avenue, winds its way through Central and ends at the Friendly Inn Settlement House near E. 55th St & Quincy Ave.

Volunteer in Central and Kinsman with BBC in a diverse array of opportunities over the next 3 months!

If you’re looking to volunteer over the next few months in Central or Kinsman, look no futher. We have openings for volunteers on mulitple days, for multiple events including:

- Support for the Ward 5 Festival and Parade in June

- Vacant Land projects in the Urban Agriculture Innovation zone in July

- Neighborhood Revitalization Projects in Lower-Kinsman in June

- Park Creation and Mural Painting in Central in April

and many more!

If you would like to volunteer in these or any other local activities in Central or Kinsman we would love to hear from you!  If you have a project in need of volunters please let us know!

Memorial Day Event @ Woodland Cemetery in Central Neighborhood

On May 22nd, May 23rd, and May 29th starting at 9:00am community members are invited to Woodland Cemetary to help place flags on the veteran graves.   The Woodland Cemetary is located between E. 66th and E. 71st Streets along Woodland Avenue in the Central neighborhood.  There are nearly 2100 veterans in 100 sections of the cemetery that need to be decorated for Memorial Day.  Please come even if you can only spend a few hours.  Your assistance is  welcomed.

On Monday May 31st at 10:00am The Woodland Cemetary will be having its annual Memorial Day ceremony.  This year they will be honoring Vietnam Veterans along with all service men to thank them for what they have done to protect and serve us!!

Ward 5 United: Coming Together as One this Saturday

Join us for the 3rd Annual Ward 5 Community Family Parade and Festival hosted by Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland this Saturday, June 28, 2008. The parade will begin at 10:00 am at Cuyahoga Community College at E. 30th St & Community College Ave and will end at Friendly Inn. The Festival will begin immediately after at Friendly Inn Settlement House at 2386 Unwin Rd (near E. 55th & Quincy Ave.) Enjoy food, fun, and festivities for all.
