Boot Camp For New Fathers!

Join veteran dads (and their babies), to learn how they made it through the first months of parenthood and resurfaced as confident, on-the-job fathers. Learn how to handle a baby, find out about issues you didn’t know were important and how to blow off issues you thought were. In this men-only environment, no question is stupid and no topic off limits.

Dads and dads-to-be will discuss issues including:

• Changes in new mom

• Handling a newborn

• Finding work/home balance

• Introducing pets to baby

• Safety issues

• Working and being a dad

• Your relationship with mom

• Feeding and changing

• How to calm a crying baby

• Handling parents and in-laws

• Breastfeeding

And anything else on your mind!

37th Annual American Community Gardening Association Conference

The 37th Annual meeting of the American Community Gardening Association Conference will be held in Cleveland this year!

The ACGA annual conference brings together individuals who are active in all aspects of gardening from across the United States, Canada, and abroad. The conference includes hands-on workshops, presentations, poster sessions, keynote speakers, and visits to community gardens, urban agriculture sites, food security projects, and other green space in Cleveland.

This event will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about the joys of fishing through aquatic education focusing on casting, rigging, water safety and identifying local fish species. The first 250 people who register will receive a free rod and reel, bait, tackle and refreshments provided by The Fishing Foundation. The Urban League of Greater Cleveland will offer information about fatherhood resources as well as an opportunity for fathers and families to register for ULGC programs and services.
