The Site Coordinator will facilitate and provide leadership for the collaborative process and development of a continuum of services for children, families and community members within the school neighborhood. This person will work on expanding the Homework Help Program, as well as developing and supporting additional in-school and after-school programs and events that promote student academic achievement.

Bridgeport Mobile Market Now HIRING!

If you have seen the Bridgeport Mobile Market in your neighborhood, then you know that it is doing a great thing for the community! The market, which launched in June 2013, is currently taking applications for an operator assistant.

 

Position Summary:
The purpose of the Bridgeport Mobile Market is to provide fresh food access to residents in the ward 5 community and surrounding neighborhoods. The Bridgeport Mobile Market Assistant will assist in all the daily functions of the mobile market. The operator will need assistance with picking up and receiving deliveries of produce from vendors, stocking shelves, driving the truck to assigned destinations, promoting sales, operating the cash register, managing inventory, quality control , and clean as needed. Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude are a must!

Position Requirements:

  • Must have basic math skills for handling cash transactions and counting inventory
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven sales ability
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Be able to work flexible shifts
  • Valid OH driver’s license
  • Committed to the mission of the Bridgeport Mobile Market
  • Able to work in cool environment for a long duration
  • Able to work year round (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., with possible weekends)

Open now for the Fall Semester, BBC’s High School Internship Program is perfect for HS Seniors looking for some part time work in the neighborhood, and experience in the field of community development.

Our High School Intern assists full-time staff members on program intake and management.  They assist staff in file preparation, document management, data tracking, program promotion and community event planning, and other general office duties.

Applicant requirements:

MUST BE A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR RESIDING IN CLEVELAND’S WARD 5 NEIGHBORHOOD

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Moderate typing skills.

Favorable interpersonal skills and the ability to complete tasks efficiently. Must also be dependable.

Ability to work at minimum 10 hours per week.

Available Americorps VISTA Position

If you or someone you know if looking to break into the nonprofit and community development fields, build networks, cultivate professional skills, and be involved in meaningful work assisting disadvantaged persons, BBC has the opportunity for you!

We’re bringing an Americorps VISTA member on board for a one-year period beginning in November 2008. Our VISTA member will assist BBC’s real estate development staff on a variety of projects in the areas of real estate development, home repair for low-income families, economic development, and others.

Compensation is approximately $865/month. Free medical benefits are included with service. An educational award in the amount of $4,725 or $1,200 cash stipend are available upon completion of service.
