Burten, Bell, Carr is hiring a Resident Resource Coordinator through AmeriCorp Vista!

The resident resource coordinator will support and enhance the collective impact work taking place with the Central Neighborhood’s Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) Network. As the resident resource coordinator, the VISTA member will help train and support resident ambassadors who are looking to increase their leadership capacity while improving access to healthy foods in their community!

Experience required includes:

– Satisfactory oral and written communication skills

– Ability to interact effectively with the public, particularly low-income families

– Satisfactory computer skills,  including Microsoft Office and social media outlets

– Experience in community organizing

– Prior experience facilitating health and wellness programming

– Strong understanding of local food systems and needs in low income neighborhoods

– Minimum: Bachelor Degree

Functions include, but are not limited too, assessing the capacity and community outreach needs of HEAL Network Institutions, collect and enter data, research funding to support educational initiative for HEAL programs in Central and Kinsman, and provide resident ambassadors with support and connections to resources that will help them implement projects.

The Specialist will work with the parents and community members to provide financial literacy and workforce development programming.

Anton Grdina School was designated as an investment school and is currently implementing the Wraparound/ Community School model, which is based on the entire community being engaged in the academic success of the students.

Project Summary

Cornucopia Place, located at 7201 Kinsman Road, Suite 103B, is a facility where Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc. (BBC) provides nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and an open multi-purpose space available for private events and functions on a rental basis.

Essential Functions

The Property Manager serves as a contractor of BBC. The primary task is to oversee the space during events in the evenings and weekends. Tasks include setup tables and chairs, ensure that the space is cleaned post event, report to BBC of any incidences or damage caused by the parties utilizing the space, take inventory of supplies and equipment, and lock up space post events.

Skills and Experience

Be able to work flexible shifts

 Available nights and weekends

 Excellent communication skills; work well with people of all ages and temperaments

 Self-motivated with strong leadership skills

 Ability to work with minimal direction

 Detail oriented

 High level of customer service

Compensation

The hourly wage is $13.00.

2. Landscaping Foreman t0 to care for, maintain, and develop lawns of agency and commercial properties and manage crew. Tasks include but are not limited to overseeing a crew, maintaining equipment, training and directing crew members, and completing daily paperwork.

The purpose of the Bridgeport Mobile Market is to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to residents of Cleveland. The Bridgeport Mobile Market Sales Manager will coordinate all the daily functions of the Mobile Market. The Sales Manager will:

  • pick-up and receive deliveries of produce from vendors,
  • stock shelves,
  • drive truck to assigned destinations,
  • promote sales,
  • operate cash register,
  • manage inventory,
  • quality control, and
  • clean as needed.

Sales Manager will contribute to increasing sales and creating positive image for the Mobile Market. Sales Manager should have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude. Candidate must have a well-developed sales ability in order to increase sales. Candidate must have entrepreneurial spirit.
