Friday March 24th, 6:00 pm, at the Antioch Baptist Church, 8869 Cedar Avenue, there will be a screening of the Oscar nominated documentary “13th,” directed by Ava DuVernay.  Centered on race in the U.S., criminal justice system, the film is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which outlawed slavery (unless as punishment for a crime).  The film argues that slavery is being effectively perpetuated through mass incarceration today.  The film runs l hr. 40 minutes and is rated TV-MA).  Following the screening there will be a guided discussion including panelists and audience members.  Light refreshments provided.  No charge.  For additional information, contact Rev.
