BBC awarded Ohio CDC of the Year

Friday, October 7th, 2011

BBC is this year’s CDC of the Year!

At this week’s 2011 Ohio CDC Association Annual Conference in Youngstown, BBC was awarded the prestigious honor of being selected the 2011 CDC of the Year for the entire state of Ohio.

The committee that reviewed nominations for CDC of the Year was thoroughly impressed by BBC’s innovative development projects currently underway, including the Urban Agriculture Innovation Zone, Heritage View Homes, Green City Growers Greenhouse, St. John’s Village West Family Homes, East Central Townhomes, and the Bistro at Bridgeport Place.

Active Neighbors for Healthy Neighborhoods, a summer-long program aiming to encourage exercise, healthy eating, and community engagement, also received acknowledgement in the presentation of the award.

BBC’s board and staff are very thankful for the wonderful partners and supporters that have enabled us to effectively transform the landscape of the Central and Kinsman neighborhoods and fortify the social capital of our neighborhoods.  We couldn’t have become CDC of the Year without you!
