Urban Harvest Garden Tour 2009 tomorrow
Friday, August 14th, 2009Celebrate local food, community, and culture and highlight 13 community gardens and urban farms in Greater Cleveland this Saturday, August 15th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Begin at 9am at the Ben Franklin Community Garden, located behind the Ben Franklin School (1905 Spring Rd.) in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood. Join Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and other guest speakers for an opening reception and a chance to learn about Greater Cleveland’s commitment to healthy communities.

There are three great ways to see the gardens in this year’s tour. All are free and open to the public.

Travel at your own pace by foot, bike, or car any time between 9am and 2pm to any garden along the route. Download a map at ww.urbanharvestcleveland.org
*Bike Tour
Bring your bike and join one of two guided rides with OSU Extension and the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op. Meet at the co-op at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15th. The bike co-op is located at 1823 Columbus Rd. in Cleveland. You can rent bikes and helmets from the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op if you don’t have your own. *Lolly the Trolly Tours
Hop on Lolly the Trolley! Trolleys will follow two separate 2 hour routes, each departing at 10am and 12pm and returning to Ben Franklin (seating is limited!). Trolley rides are free and open to the public.

CLEVELAND RECYCLES Computer Round – up in ward 5 Monday thru Friday August 3 thru 29, 2009 August 29, 2009 (only Saturday collection) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Division of Waste collection 5600 Carnegie Avenue The City of Cleveland and the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District Have teamed up to recycle unwanted computer equipment from Cleveland Residents. All collected computer equipment will either be upgraded and distributed to schools or recycled. Residential computer And peripheral equipment accepted: CELL PHONES ALSO ACCEPTED.
